add-e NEXT SPORT SET

Product information "add-e NEXT SPORT SET"

Turn your existing bike into a super light e-bike in no time at all. With the add-e retrofit drive, you can easily upgrade almost any existing bike and enjoy the advantages of two worlds. Powerful support whenever you want it, without the weight and inertia of a normal e-bike.

The add-e NEXT Sport Edition is delivered with a throttle of 25 km/h AND CAN BE LEGALLY USED WITHOUT FURTHER CONVERSIONS - WITHOUT REGISTRATION. This throttling can be lifted using a dongle, BUT THE MOTOR IS NOT LEGAL TO USE ON ROADS IN MOST EU COUNTRIES.

Drive unit:
Power: max. 600 W
Speed: up to max. 45 km/h (delivered with a throttle of 25 km/h only)
Weight: 800 g
Motor: brushless synchronous motor (external rotor)
Dimensions: 7x8x8 cm (H/W/D)

You can choose between 5 support levels using the power adjustment on the battery. This allows you to compensate for certain deficits when riding in a group with low support (50 watts - first level), or to effortlessly overcome annoying climbs, e.g. at the 4th level (200 watts). The actual range depends heavily on the selected assistance level, the rider's own performance and external influences.

We have also taken a significant step forward with the new electronics of the add-e NEXT. The significantly higher computing power of the controller used now makes it possible to deliver the motor power up to 1000 times more precisely and much more evenly. This not only leads to more torque and more powerful assistance on the mountain, but also reduces noise to almost zero.

add-e NEXT has intelligent Bluetooth sensors that continuously calculate speed and crank speed while riding. Without cables, this information is transmitted in "real time" and enables unprecedented precision in motor control. This makes it possible to further optimize the switch-on delay after starting and to provide support even at the lowest speeds.

An additional advantage of the new Bluetooth sensors can be seen during installation. From now on, it doesn't matter which chainring is combined with which crank and bike. Mounting is even easier and fits "every" bike.

A Bluetooth handlebar switch is available as an option exclusively for all add-e NEXT editions

Included in delivery:
add-e NEXT drive unit
add-e battery depending on choice
add-e power supply incl. Country-specific charging cable
add-e NEXT mounting set with new Bluetooth sensors (incl. silent block)
Dongle

Legal information
According to the pedelec standard EN 15194/2017, the maximum assistance speed is 25 km/h with a nominal continuous output of 250 W. The add-e NEXT Sport is supplied with mapping 2. This means with a maximum assistance speed of 25 km/h and a maximum power of 600 W. This corresponds to the standard stated above, as the 600 W is an indication of the peak power.
The add-e NEXT Sport Edition makes it possible to ride at an average higher speed (max. up to 45 km/h). In order to use the add-e NEXT Sport in the EU in compliance with the law, it is delivered from the factory with mapping 2 (25 km/h, 600 W peak power). These parameters can only be changed if a dongle is fitted to the drive unit. If this dongle is not carried along after the adjustment, there is no risk of tampering even in the event of an accident and the set maximum speed (25 km/h) also applies to add-e NEXT Sport as the maximum design speed in accordance with the approval-free pedelec standard EN 15194/2017.
The parameters can be changed at your own request using a dongle, both for the motor power and for the maximum speed, but this then no longer complies with the EN 15194/2017 standard.
If the selected configuration does not comply with the applicable legal regulations of the current country, the add-e NEXT may only be used with special permission and/or for racing and/or on private property.
The legislator provides for different regulations for the use of e-drives on bicycles in different countries. As a rule, the entire bike is always used for the assessment. Whether different regulations generally apply when retrofitting an electric motor, e.g. for lighting, also depends on the country and must be observed by the user. The user is responsible for informing themselves about the applicable legal regulations and acting accordingly.
